Managing a work life balance

Owning a business can feel overwhelming at times, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle can often be put on the back burner. That’s why we’ve put together some tips to help you manage your work-life balance.

Get your body moving

Sometimes there’s not enough time to squeeze in a workout at the gym. On the days when you can’t find the time, go outside and get some fresh air. Even if you only have 10 minutes, a walk in the park or around the block will get your body moving and boost your serotonin.

Designate work-free zones

To create a separation between your work and home life, try creating a work-free zone that prohibits work activity in that area. This could be your kitchen, the bedroom, or even the treadmill. Make sure your phone and laptop are out of sight and earshot so you are free from all work-related distractions.

Combine your calendar

This may seem counterintuitive as you’re trying to separate the two, but keeping all of your plans in one place removes the risk of overbooking yourself. This will allow you to maintain control of your work-life balance.

Make time for the things you enjoy

Doing the things you love is wonderful for your mental health. Making time for the hobby you enjoy or spending time with your family and friends is important. Set a time, this could be once a week or every fortnight, and pop it in your calendar. This encourages your work-life balance and will help you feel revitalised.
